Fresh homemade soup, made from leeks and herbs grown on Wilberforce College grounds. This is more than likely the first time that vegetables grown on this site have been eaten since the Iron Age farmers who lived off the land here about 2000 years ago. In 2015, roughly one third of children growing up in this part of the city live in poverty. Thanks to the chefs in the kitchen for making this delicious soup and to the students who planted our first crop.

What does poverty mean?
